Well, I spent 4 days and 3 nights away from my kids, and survived. It took a little while to figure out what to do with ourselves, and all of our time, but it was a trip very much appreciated. Thank you so much to Sharon and Whitney for watching our little ones. I was glad that they (Grandma and Whit, that is) were both still standing when we got home. I was told that there was no nap taking when we were away, which usually leads to a very grouchy Mamma. The kids enjoyed lots of extra attention, eating at McDonald's, swimming in the pool, a new slip 'n slide, new swimming suits, and all of the rest of fun that Grandma provides. I knew that they were in the best hands. Each consecutive day away, I called home less and less, and today, I actually have to put in the record books, I only called once to let them know we were driving home. Moreover, I think I only cried twice!
As for our accomodations, we stayed at a very nice resort and spa on the Oregon coast. Jake had meetings until 12:00 every day, and then we had the afternoons to ourselves, until we had a group dinner at 6:00. I would love to tell you that we spent our days exploring, and enjoying the scenery, but we didn't. We were on a limited budget, and the free things left much to be desired. But, we did go to the ocean, spent some time at the beach, and bought $1 flip flops at Old Navy, which was fun. The hotel room was very nice, and we mainly stayed in watching TV, napping, and just enjoying each other. Jake did drag me to Indiana Jones Friday night, and since we haven't been to a movie in so long, I mainly went for the snuggle time. I got to sleep in every morning while Jake went to meetings, and Iwent to a few meetings myself. We caught up with some old friends, met some new ones, and it got Jake really pumped to go back to work, and make us some money!!
The water was very cold!! I was quite shocked, when this wave caught me by surprise.
On Saturday night, they always have a fancy dinner, and Awards Banquet. This dress is my $10 treasure I got from Ross before we left. It's always fun to dress up, and feel like a girl, not just a mom, once in awhile. And, Kudos to Jake for winning the "Prospecting Award," which is a huge deal for new FA's. Maybe we will make it in this business after all. I mean, they've got to be a pretty great company to send all of their employees and families on an expense paid summer vacation.

I am so glad you had such a good time. I am very proud of you for leaving your kids (because you knew they were in such good hands). I am sure they missed you but had a very fun time. Your pictures are so pretty of the beach!! I remember that the Oregon coast was the first time I ever saw the ocean. Your dress is SO cute, and you are so beautiful.
What a fun trip! And you made it without your kids. Remember, I am in your same boat when it comes to leaving them. You look so pretty and I bet it was so great to have some hubby time. Glad you're back safe.
Glad you guys had a good time! Your kids seemed to have a great time with Sharon, getting totally spoiled, of course! Samantha was happy to hang out with them on Friday. They had fun eating lunch and swimming together. Anyways, the beach looks beautiful! What a great place to be able to spend a few days. You'll have to bring the kids over to swim this week. I'll call you! Welcome back!
You looked cute and good picture taking skills to you on the beach. I loved the dress and I think that you guys deserved this weekend away. I hope that you can jump back into normal life and love it too!
Glad you guys had a good break! You look awesome! Good luck with everything.
Oooh... Lucky girl. :) I'd like to sneak some time away with the hubby without little ones!
I tried to send you an email... I'm not sure if maybe it was sent to junk mail. It's about Kelly's swap. Could you let me know? Thanks! :)
looks like you've been busy! maybe you two have already touched base, but your swap partner is in need of the rest of your address, all i had was the street address!
Yay Em!
It sounds like you had a great time. I bet you are so rejuvinated and will come back to your kiddos so refreshed and ready to take them on.
Miss you!
Looks like you had fun...I love trips away, but you always miss your kids so much. I have that exact dress from Ross, but in brown with white polka dots....great minds think alike, but you look better in it then me.
Hey you! Fun times! Tait and I are already planning a trip that won't happen untill next year! Gotta have something to get you through the day! Bethany
