For Those of us who have them - Why We Need to Appreciate our White Blood Cells

One of the very annoying side effects of a low white blood count, are mouth sores. Rohne has had hundreds of them, and they are not fun. If you will notice his big lip, this is from a huge canker sore that's right on the underside of his lip. He always gets 1 or 2 of these huge ones when his count is low, and his gums usually get really tender, and bleed too. My theory is that our mouth is full of bacteria, and our white blood cells help to fight off the bad bacteria. But, without sufficient cells to do this, the bacteria goes to work, and eats away at the mouth, thus producing sores. All the Med School people can tell me if I'm right or not, but that's what I think, because he always gets these. It makes it hard for him to eat and sleep, and we all feel really bad for him.

BUT. . . He can still rock!!

I feel so bad for Rohne! His lip looks painful! I'm sorry you have to deal with this. Hopefully his doc will put him back on his shot soon, or his body gets used to not having shots. How frustrating! He seems in fairly good spirits though. What a trooper!

poor little guy! I feel so bad for him, that stinks. I get annoyed when I bite my cheek, so I can't even imagine having big sores in my mouth. Is he back on his shots again?

Awesome song!! Have you ever tried putting Alumon his canker sores...my dad always gets bad sores and he uses alum (I think it's a spice), you probably have some major prescription or something but it has helped him. Thanks for your thoughts on my blog...I just think you are pretty great too!
