My current challenge

"I love eating dinner when Daddy cooks!"

You can't see it that well, but it looks disgusting

My mom always said that "kids won't starve themselves." It's important to note here that my mother raised 6 children, so she knows what she's talking about. I have always valued her opinion when it comes to the rearing of my 2 monsters. Anyways, my current challenge is regarding my sweet 3 year old Taylee. She refuses to eat anything but peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. It is making me crazy! I tried just making her eat a few bites of whatever I cooked for the meal. And after much toil, she would eat it. . . and promptly start gagging and almost vomit. I do not want to clean up vomit, do you blame me? Oh well, if I don't make her a sandwich, she will get hungry and eat eventually. Nope! She would rather starve.

Tonight, I was at the end of my rope. I had made a healthy dinner of whole wheat pasta, turkey burger, and garden ripened tomatoes. My mom's goulash with a little twist. Anyways, I told Jake it was his turn to feed Taylee. He was very proud to show me that Tay ate every bite of her chocolate chip waffle with peanut butter, syrup, and sprinkles on top. Hey, it wasn't a sandwich! I am begging all of the moms out there to give me suggestions. I can't be the only one with the most stubborn, picky little one ever. Please help!!

Hey, I don't really have any advice. Josie is pretty picky herself. She likes all the traditional unhealthy kid stuff. Does Taylee like any fruits and veggies? We struggle with the veggies! I need advice from you on potty training! How did you guys finally make it work?

I don't have any advice for you. My kid is pretty much a vacuum. I am lucky in that department. I think your mom is right though, eventually she will get hungry enough!! I know that my nephew (Brent's side) is like that. He went through a phase where he only ate pop tarts! Sorry I don't have more to offer!! Love the new lay out by the way. Have fun shopping for the little ones...

Wow, you don't look like you've had two kids. Good for you, I guess if you run four miles....... I am looking for advice in the same department. Jace is a pretty good eater, but he has his moments. Let me know what you find out.

Emily! I'm so glad you commented on our blog! Your kids are absolutely adorable! I loved reading your posts. We have a lot in common! I guarantee Lucy could challenge even Taylee's pickiness. Lucy only likes waffles and hot dogs. I have to say, the last 6 months have gotten better. She'll eat strawberries, bananas, carrots (only if there is ranch to drowned them in) and green beans. These were each HUGE breakthroughs. I almost cried from happiness when she ate them!! She'll out grow it. I decided to only make her eat at one of the meals. So, at lunch I made sure she got a couple bites of vegetable and a couple bites of fruit. At dinner...I tried, but didn't stress too much. My sister gave me this advice after many frustrated phone calls. I'll be checking often....I'm so glad we're in touch!
